Auditory Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory

My project involves studying the age-related changes in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway in fibroblast cells. I will be investigating the changes in the amount, activity and mRNA expression levels of both the 20S and 26S proteasome during aging. In addition, the amount of ubiquitination enzymes and ubiquitin-conjugated proteins will be monitored. Eventually, I would like to conduct my experiments in an in vivo system to support my fibroblast cell results.
I am in my fourth year of my undergraduate education. I am majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in German. Next year I plan to attend medical school.
