Research Project
Recently my research has focused on age-related hearing-loss in vivo and using fibroblast cell cultures and developing an in vitro model for studying aminoglycoside-induced hearing-loss using a cell line derived from the organ of corti of the immortomouse (HEI-OC1). I am also working with a breeding colony of Akt knockout mice used for studying the effect of the Akt gene product on hearing-loss susceptibility and working on aminoglycoside and protectant in vivo studies.
