Research Project
My research project is to investigate the aminoglycoside-induced inner ear sensory cell death. I will focus on the molecular mechanisms of aminolgycoside ototoxicity and signal transduction pathways in an in vitro system, namely inner ear HEI-OC1 cell line. The long-range goal is to establish the in vivo mechanisms and pathways of aminolgycoside-induced hearing loss, and to deduce suggestions for potential treatments/prevention.
