Research Duties
My job involves research with deaf adult human subjects with cochlear implants. The research entails psychophysical and speech-recognition testing under various configurations of the auditory prosthesis. Also, psychophysical experiments are conducted using normal-hearing subjects using acoustic simulations of cochlear implants. Other responsibilities include the preparation of Institutional Review Board applications, recruitment of subjects, data analysis, preparation of research results for presentation and maintenance of the human-psychophysical laboratory and equipment.
